Shining Bright

Acts 17:28a "For in him we live and move and have our being."

1st Corinthians 9:24-25 "Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize. Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training. They do it to get a crown that will not last; but we do it to get a crown that will last forever."

Decisions... what house to buy. Should I move this year? Next year? Should we take the position out of town? What college should I go to? Is this person the right one for me?
These are all so very important.
But I state: there is not one question more important than this one. Where is your soul going when you die?

We are living in uncertain times, with the state of the nations and with the economy, etc. People are feeling the need of finding something that is stable and that they can count on, because, let’s face it, life is not always stable.

Stability can be found in the person Jesus Christ...

Jesus said, "I will never leave you nor forsake you" Hebrews 13:5

Psalm 91:1 "He who dwells in the shelter of the most high will rest in the shadow of the Almighty."

Psalm 91:4 "He shall cover you with His feathers and under His wings you shall find refuge."

"MEET ME IN THE STAIRWELL"
A story about 9/11

I was on the 110th floor in a smoke-filled room with a man who called his wife to say goodbye. I held his fingers steady as he dialed. I gave him the peace to say, "Honey, I am not going to make it. But it is ok. I am ready to go."

I was with his wife when he called as she fed breakfast to the children. I held her up as she tried to understand his words and she realized that he was not coming home that night.

I was in the stairwell of the 23rd floor when a woman cried out for help. I told her, "I have been knocking at the door of your heart for 50 years. Yes, of course I will show you the way safely home. Only, believe in me now."

I was in the basement of the building with the Priest ministering to the injured and devastated souls. I took him home to tend to his flock in heaven. He heard my voice and he answered.

I was on all four planes, in every seat, with every prayer. I was with the crew as they were overtaken. I was in the hearts of the believers there, comforting and assuring them their faith had saved them. I was in Texas, London, Kansas, I was standing next to you when you heard the news. Did you sense me?

I want you to know that I saw each face. I knew each name. Though not all knew me. Some met me for the first time on the 86th floor. Some sought me with their last breath. Some could not hear me calling to them through the smoke and the flames. "Come! This way! Take my hand!" Some chose, for the last time, to ignore me, but I was there.

I did not place you in the tower that day. You do not know why, but I do. If you were there in that explosive moment would you have reached for Me?

Some day your journey will end. I will be there for you if you choose Me. Seek Me now, while I may be found. Then when YOUR journey ends, you will be ready.

I will be in the stairwell of your final moments.

- God

Psalm 93:5 "Your statutes stand firm. Holiness adorns your house for endless days, oh Lord."

When you buy real estate it really is so exciting to find out that you will be the new owner of the home of your dreams. Sometimes, however, disappointment can set in if you find out you are in a competitive bid situation and you find out you are not chosen.

But the Lord has no problem letting as many of us that choose to be with Him and to live in His house.

John 14:1-3 "Do not let your heart be troubled. Trust in God. Trust also in me (Jesus). In my Father's house there are many rooms. If it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with Me that you may be where I am."

Matthew 22:37-39 "Some men asked Jesus, "Teacher which Is the greatest commandment in the law?" Jesus said, "Love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul and your mind. This is the first commandment. The second one is like it. Love your neighbor as yourself."

Over 75% of people think that they will be let into heaven. If what YOU were basing your hope for this on, where not true, would you want some one to tell you the truth? The bible says...

John 14:6 "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father (God) except through Me (Jesus)."

How do you do this, you may ask? It is through a personal relationship with God's son, Jesus Christ. It is NOT enough to be bible literate, or know your theology. God is seeking your companionship, and He wants you to let Him into your heart. It is not His will you just attend church Sunday and forget His existence Monday through Saturday. He desires you to be in fellowship with Him at all times. So it is not just mere head knowledge of Jesus. He has an advertisement out right now, looking for people to be faithful to Him.

1st Timothy 2:5 "For there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus."

Jesus came to BRIDGE the gap between God and man, because of our unholiness and our sin, we can not get to God on our own. God, on the other hand is perfect and holy.

Romans 3:23 "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. But Jesus, the Christ, who lead a sin-free life, despite temptations, died for you and me on the cross and He shed His blood for us as an atonement for our sins, and by the shedding of His blood, we are forgiven of our sins. We are Saved By Grace.

"It is important for you to know this: "For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him."
Please refer to John 3:17

Romans 10:13 says: "...everyone who calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved." Yes us imperfects, yes, us sinners. Don't believe the devil's lie, "...you are not good enough, God would not want you." It says that everyone who calls upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

John 10: 9-10 "I, Jesus, am the gate. Whoever enters through me will be saved. He who comes in and out will find pasture. The thief comes to steal, kill and destroy (satan). I come that you might have life, and have it more abundantly."

So you ask what must I do to be saved? How can I be assured of heaven some day? How can I have peace? Abundant life?

TO RECEIVE CHRIST:
  1. Admit you are a sinner.
  2. Be willing to turn from all your sins that you know about (the Lord will reveal others to you later), this is also called "repenting".
  3. Believe Jesus died for you on the cross and rose again from the grave.
  4. Through prayer, receive Jesus into your heart as your personal Lord and Savior.
PRAYER TO PRAY NOW:
Dear Lord, I know I am a sinner and I need your forgiveness. I believe that you died for my sins. I want to now turn from my sins and invite you into my heart and my life. I want to trust you as my Lord and Savior. Amen.
Congratulations!!! All the angels in heaven are rejoicing in your NEW LIFE in Christ. "...this is the day that the Lord has made! Let us rejoice and be glad in it!" Psalm 118:24.

WHAT DO I DO NEXT?
